Choir
Faughanvale Primary School choir has been under the direction of Mr Sean Conaghan since November 2006. The choir was initially established to perform at annual Liturgical services and Christmas shows. However, having grown from strength to strength the choir has performed at a variety of charitable and fundraising events within the school and wider community. The choir has successfully participated in a variety of local choir competitions such as the Fr Adrian Porter Memorial Competition and the Derry Feis Cholmcille in which they were awarded first place in the Sacred Competition singing the African hymn ‘Siyahumba’ and the children's gospel hymn 'Get on board this train' written and arranged by Don Besig and Nancy Price. In May 2012 the choir launched their debut CD entitled ‘Faughanvale’s Singing Stars’, this captured the children’s eclectic tastes in music and provided them with fond memories that they will cherish and remember for many years to come. Our choir also taking leading roles within our recent productions of the Wizard of Oz, Matilda and Annie and helped bring these hit musicals to the village of Greysteel.
