Easter message to children and parents

7th Apr 2020

Dear children and parents,

We are coming to the end of the spring term. What a different Easter we are all going to have this year!
I would like to congratulate you all for the fantastic efforts everyone has made in trying to get used to this new way of learning. Boys and girls I have seen some tremendous work on Seesaw and wonderful photographs of you learning at home and enjoying spring in the gardens and fields around you. It is really amazing to see how hard everyone has worked. Children you have done so well trying to do your very best at home both for your teachers and your parents. We are all so proud of you!

Parents I am sure for many of you it has been a juggling match; some of you working from home and everyone trying to help your children with their school work as well as keeping them entertained and busy. I imagine that by the end of this period of isolation, many of you could take up jobs for the United Nations Peace Keeping Force!

I know that my staff and I really miss you all and look forward to the time when we can all be back to the familiar routines of school life. I equally know children that you are missing playing with your friends and going to visit cousins, aunties, uncles and grandparents. However, by us continuing to do what we are doing, we will hopefully help everyone to stay well so that we can get back to normality as soon as possible.

The Easter holidays are almost here. That means that from Thursday 9th April there will be no more lessons on-line. Remote Learning will start again on Monday 20th April. Anyone who wants to get creative over the Easter Holidays can open up the link listed here and you will see some lovely ideas for Easter crafts from the Banyan Theatre: http://www.banyantheatre.com/

As it is Holy Week I have included a lovely link that has been sent to schools so that we can forward it on to all our families using this link: http://www.steugenescathedral.com/webcam.html or https://www.mcnmedia.tv/camera/st-eugenes-cathedral-derry

Even though we are all out of usual routines, Holy Week helps us to remember that Jesus loves us all through the good times and the bad.
On behalf of all the staff of Faughanvale, may I wish you all a happy, healthy and safe Easter!
