Faughanvale P.S Fives

12th Oct 2025

Faughanvale Fives

It was yet another fantastic day today at the annual Faughanvale PS Fives tournament. We felt there was no better way to celebrate Children’s Mental Health day than by bringing pupils from all over Derry together for a great day of Gaelic football. We are proud to say that over 150 pupils enjoyed a great day of sport.

We are so proud of our boys’ B team who managed to win Junior Championship after defeating Dernaflaw B in a closely fought encounter. Both teams showed great skills and teamwork throughout the game.

Congratulations to Ballykelly P.S girls on retaining their Junior Championship after a thrilling final with Dernaflaw B.

Termoncanice retained their girl’s intermediate championship, defeating our very own Faughanvale B in a thrilling final. It was a fantastic effort from our B team to make the final and congratulations to Termoncanice on a great win.

In the boys’ Intermediate, Gaelscoil Leim an Mhadaidh defeated Ballykelly. Both teams fought valiantly and it was an excellent game for everyone watching. Congratulations to both teams.

Termoncanice were crowned boys’ Senior Champions, besting Dernaflaw in the final. The standard of football from both teams in the final was exceptional. A special mention to our own boys’ team who made the semi-finals after finishing top of their group.

Well done to our very own magnificent girls in sky blue, who won the Senior Championship after a nail biting final with Dernaflaw. A phenomenal game of football and well done to both teams.

Thank you to Barney McLaughlin for helping with refereeing on the day. Thank you to Errigal Trophies for providing us with the lovely trophies and medals. Our tournaments would not be possible without them. A massive thank you to all the schools and players who attended.

Thank you Faughanvale GAA for allowing use to use their state of the art facilities today and for all the great work they do in our school.

What a day and what a start to the new Gaelic Football season ! Keep an eye out on social media and school website for updates on our sports teams this year.
