Primary Five at Faughanvale PS have been having an amazing time learning all about Ireland as part of their World Around Us topic! 🇮🇪
The pupils have loved diving into Irish myths and legends during Literacy, especially the story of the Children of Lir. They created fantastic animations using JIT to bring the story to life, alongside some truly wonderful artwork inspired by this magical tale. 🎨📖
Using their ICT and Geography skills, the class also coded routes for an exciting virtual road trip across Ireland — what a brilliant way to combine technology and mapping skills! 🗺️💻
A highlight of the topic was learning all about the Giant's Causeway with our fantastic student teacher, Miss McIlmoyle. The pupils absolutely loved discovering how the volcanic process helped to form the famous basalt columns. They even created their own volcano models to explore how these incredible natural features were formed! 🌋
